Cement-Base Fluid Expanding Mortar, With High Mechanical Resistance

One component cement base mortar with high mechanical resistance. It is supplied ready to use, only by adding water.

Sikagrout® -295 has the following properties:
  • Easy mixing and placing in cast.
  • Good flow characteristics and pourable with Self-levelling.
  • Free from chlorides and metallic particles. It does not oxide in contact with humidity, it protects metallic parts against corrosion, due to its basic PH
  • Slightly expanding.
  • High mechanical resistances and quick resistances development.
  • Excellent concrete, mortar or steel adhesion. It provides a monolithic joining and impact and vibration resistance.
  • Waterproofing: water and oils resistant.
  • It is neither toxic, nor corrosive.

Usage

Sikagrout® -295 is indicated for all of uses that need high initial or final high mechanical resistances:
  • Bearing plates, machine foundations and anchors.
  • Metallic elements (reinforcements, etc.), concrete posts and pre-cast construction columns.
  • Cavities, gaps and recesses into the concrete mass filling.
Note: Do not use for surfaces levelling.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Surface Preparation

  1. Concrete substrates should be clean, sound and free from grease. Oils, cement laitance and all loosely adhering particles.
  2. Metallic elements should be clean and free from oils, grease, and rust. Substrates cleaning, if necessary, should be preferably done by mechanical ways.
  3. Absorbent substrates should be saturated, avoiding pooling. Sikagrout® -295 will be applied when surfaces begin to have a mate aspect.

MIXING

SikaGrout®-295 can be mixed with a low speed (<500 rpm) hand drill mixer to avoid entraining too much air. Mix only full bags for best results.
Pour the minimum recommended water in a suitable mixing container. While stirring slowly, add the powder to the water and mix thoroughly at least for 3 minutes adding additional water if necessary to the maximum specified amount to adjust the grout to the required consistency.

APPLICATION

  • Pour Sikagrout® -295 immediately after mixing it in order to take profit from its expanding effect.
  • For bearing plates, it is necessary to have a mortar entrance hole and air evacuation hole. It is recommended to stir mechanically the mix in order to facilitate the filling process.

 

CURING TREATMENT

Keep visible exposed grout surfaces to a minimum. Protect the fresh material from premature drying using appropriate curing method e.g. curing compound, moist textile membrane, polythene sheet etc.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Tools should be cleaned with water, immediately after its use.
