Sika Bitucoat®

Sika Bitucoat® is a simple and economical material, with the following benefits:
  • Solvent free.
  • Low odour, dries without producing strong vapour.
  • Unaffected by high ambient temperature (will not soften).
  • Excellent adhesion to substrate.
  • Highly elastic to bridge structural cracks.
  • It can be used for damp surfaces.
  • High resistance to aggressive chemicals and salts.

Usage

  • Sika Bitucoat® is used to protect concrete surfaces that will subsequently be back filled such as: Retaining walls, Basements and Foundations.
  • Adhesive for insulating boards.
  • Separation coating for concreting work (bond-breaker).

0.35 – 0.40 kg/m2 for 1st coat
0.15 – 0.20 kg/m2 for 2nd coat depending on substrate porosity

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be clean, free from dust, oil and grease.
Dry concrete should be wetted.

MIXING

Add 5-10% of water to 1st coat.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with soap and water, use Sika Thinner 2 to dissolve dried material.
