SikaTop®-122

Polymer Modified Repair Mortar

A cement based, polymer modified, two component repair mortar. When mixed together, the components react to form a high strength repair and levelling mortar for concrete.

Sika Top® -122 provides the following beneficial properties:

Usage

Sika Top® -122 is used as an economical and easy to use concrete repair mortar suitable for:
  • Channels.
  • Water retaining structures.
  • Making good damaged edges and joint arises.                                                          
  • Repairing honeycombing.

Surface preparation

Concrete, mortar and stone surfaces must be clean, free from laitance, oil, grease and loosely adhering particles.

Metal surfaces (steel and iron) should be free from scale, rust, oil and grease. Saturate absorbent surfaces thoroughly.

Application

Application Information

Mixing ratio

Comp A : B = 1 : 6 Parts by weights.

Waiting time to overcoating

  • Minimum working temperature is 8 °C.
  • Minimum coat thickness = 3 mm.
  • Maximum coat thickness = 20 mm.
  • Greater thickness can be achieved by adding clean coarse sand or working in layers
Application steps

MIXING

Place the full contents of Comp. (A) (liquid) in a suitable mixing container. Stirring slowly and thoroughly, add all of Comp. (B) and mix for approx. 3 minutes until a smooth consistency is achieved.

APPLICATION

- Whilst the substrate is still damp work the mortar vigorously into the surface. For large repairs use a mixture of (A) and (B) (approx. 1: 3 by volume) in slurry consistency as a primer or Sika Top® -121 as a bond-coat. Exposed reinforce steels use Armatec® -110. Afterwards apply the repair mortar by trowel to required profile.

CURING TREATMENT

Use approved curing methods, like Antisol-E® curing compound, etc.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
